I'm very excited and proud to be a part of this year's 30th Anniversary Piccolo Spoleto Festival Jazz Series!! I will be performing in two very different events and am in hopes to see you all out and about. Sunday, May 25th, the guys and I will be performing Upstairs at Mistral at Mistral Restaurant - located at 99 S Market Street. This is a brand new series that has very limited seating and tickets are selling fast! I will be debuting a couple of new tunes and sharing the stage with Gerald Gregory (piano), David Linaburg (guitar), Nathan Koci (accordion/flugelhorn), Kevin Hamilton (bass) and Nick Jenkins (drums). This will be the last chance to see David playing with us for awhile, as he is looking forward to his move to New York. Mistral is offering an $11 menu/item (excluding tax & tip) and will be serving from their full bar selection. Entrance to this event is via 180 Meeting Street, in the First Citizens Building. THIS SUNDAY, MAY 18th @ 5pm, Jazz Artists of Charleston will kick-off its PICCOLO SPOLETO JAZZ SERIES at Footlight Players Theatre (20 Queen Street) with a preview celebration, "Footnotes at Footlight." BUY TICKETS HERE! Featured performing artists from this year's Jazz Series will be taking the stage to present highlighted performances from their scheduled shows throughout the festival. It's a PARTY! Performances by Tommy Gill, Kopaja, Bobbie Storm, Lee Barbour, Garage Cuban Band, Kevin Hackler, Havanason, Duda Lucena, Gradual Lean, Leah Suárez, Robert Lewis & Fearless Jones, Ann Caldwell and more!! Don't miss this opportunity to see and hear all of this talent under one roof! The celebration kicks off at 5pm with a fully catered reception in the alley beside Footlight Players Theatre by The Trusted Palate (paninis, cous cous and more!) and Avondale Wine & Cheese (sangria, beer and wine), and with music by The Pulse Trio. The main stage concert will begin at 6pm and will go into the evening until about 9pm. This is an exciting time to kick off a brand new series produced by a brand new organization - Jazz Artists of Charleston - in partnership with the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs.
